Nothing you bring in goes live until you publish it.

A book

A book is the first page of the Studio: press Load a book file... on Your story, or paste the whole book into the box, then Build my game. You see the cost first (a whole book costs a few hundred credits) and it takes a few minutes. The guide page explains it: Your story. Only use books whose copyright has run out, or your own writing.

A Wolf Story notecard

  1. Step 1: Stand on the region the story is for.
  2. Step 2: Press Advanced editing, open the Import page and pick Wolf Story notecard (WolfViewer: Wolf Story (STORY v1)).
  3. Step 3: Drag your STORY notecard and the Look - <name> notecards from your inventory onto the window, or choose them from the list (WolfViewer: Choose from my notecards...).
  4. Step 4: Press Import, read the report and the outline, then press Use as draft. Open the game under Continue a game and place its boxes on Your story map.
  • The whole story becomes one part. Players start it again: progress from the old storyteller is not carried over.
  • A Look notecard must be full permission, or that character keeps the default look.

An adventure file

A game can be saved as one .json file with everything in it. Download the draft (.json) under Advanced editing > Publish saves one; the Import page brings one in (up to 2 MB). It is checked before anything is saved. These files are handy for backups and for sharing a game with another builder. Editing one by hand is for experienced people.

Coming later

Importing stories from Twee (Twine), Ink and Yarn Spinner, importing Character Cards, and exporting to those formats are planned for a later stage. Today the only export is the adventure file. Planned for later
